Excursions from Takalau Resort - Lau Ong Hoang

Lau Ong Hoang (Prince Palace) is located in Co Mount, built in 1911. The villa owner was a French Aristocrat named De Montpensier. Charmed by the beautiful landscape, he built this villa as a gift to his beloved wife. There were 13 rooms in an area of 536 m2 including a rain water cellarand an electric generator. It was considered the most beautiful villa in Binh Thuan at this period of time.

Since then, Co Mount has been named Lau Ong Hoang (Prince Palace). Four decades later, the very famous leprous poet,
Han-Mac-Tu, lived a secluded life in this ruin, and dreamed of a platonic love with a poetess who still lives in Phan-Thiet. His poems are still thrilling through every generation’s spines.
