Excursions from Takalau Resort - Poklong Mohnai Temple

King Poklong Mohnai Temple was built by the Champa people on the top of the sand hill at Luong Binh Hamlet, Luong Son Commune. Poklong Mohnai is the latest king of Champa Dynasty. He came to the throne at the beginning of Century XVII and ruled until 1627 when he abdicated in favor of his son-in-law named Poklong Gahul. The sanctuary was built in the shape of «T» character. The statue of the King has been worshipped in the middle of the century, the Champa Queen statue has been located on the left, the Vietnamese Royal Concubine statue has been placed on the right side. The first two statues are still undamaged, only the Vietnamese royal concubine statue was destroyed in part of the head, and in part of the body…

Every year, the King’s relatives and progeny and the Cham people make ceremonial offerings and the greatest ceremonial offerings are celebrated in July of the Cham Calendar. (Presently, one of the Cham King progeny, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao, who resides at Phan Thanh Commune, Bac Binh Rural District still keeps many precious things and which are exhibited at the open warehouse of her family).
